The Dodge Charger is the only 4-door muscle car available on the market. It combines features known from, among others. Dodge Challenger or Chevrolet Camaro, only in a more practical body that can easily transport the whole family. The first model with the name “Charger” on the market appeared in 1966 in the form of a two-door coupe winning a wide range of fans around the world. It wasn’t until 2005 that the American automotive legend was presented in a sedan-type body. The current seventh generation of this unique E-segment car has been on sale since 2015.

The Dodge Charger, comparing in size to its European counterparts, is a competitor to cars such as the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63. Although all three have V8 engines, the Charger wins with its capacity (6.2L), power (as much as 717 horsepower!) and, for many, the sound of its exhaust system. Undoubtedly, the European competition is ahead in some respects, but the price difference between these cars should not be forgotten, in favor of the American representative. When looking for an American classic muscle car, you can’t go past the Dodge Charger Hellcat.

The Hellcat has a great many individual settings, including: two “power” modes – 500hp and 700hp, adjusting the sensitivity of traction control, and adjusting the “firmness” of the suspension. The vehicle’s cockpit is virtually identical to that of the Challenger model. On board our specimen you will find rich additional equipment, among others. Heated seats in the front and rear, seat memory including electric control, sunroof, harman/kardon sound system, sunroof, adaptive cruise control or lane assist. Travel will be made more enjoyable by the adaptive suspension that distinguishes the Hellcat version with three modes. Also on board is an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission known from BMW models. The Hellcat’s handling has also been improved over weaker versions with V8 engines. An interesting feature is a warning light located in the outside mirrors to improve the visibility of disembarking passengers at night.

The Dodge Charger Hellcat is a car that is extremely rare in Europe, due to the emission standards in force in our country or purely rational issues, such as a sizable appetite for fuel or the size of the vehicle. However, it will provide us with more excitement than many European sports cars due to its great sound and huge power transferred exclusively to the rear axle. The Charger will give us plenty of adrenaline, and as long as we don’t switch it to track mode, traction control will help in tricky situations.
It is an option for all those who love the American climate and need a practical car for four people. This is the most versatile muscle car – with plenty of room inside for passengers, a huge trunk and ride comfort at a pretty high level. Putting the car seat in the back won’t be a problem either!
