For many years, the Porsche Cayman was referred to as the “poor man’s” version of the 911. Unfairly so—anyone who had the chance to drive this model appreciated its compact size, light weight, and precise handling. At times, the car could even be more fun to drive than the legendary 911. The latest version of the Cayman has matured visually and combines all the best features of the Stuttgart-based brand. In this“Style Edition,”it’s even more unique thanks to its contrasting color scheme and more extensive standard equipment. This is especially true of our test car, which features the very interesting Ruby Star Neo paint color and the SportDesign package with black-painted accents.
The 718 is powered by a 2-liter engine producing 300KM, which—given its curb weight of approximately 1,365 kg—is more than sufficient. Excellent weight distribution makes the car exceptionally easy to handle. The driver feels a sense of “oneness” with the car, knowing exactly how it will behave in any given situation.
It’s no coincidence that the engine featured in the 718 model we offer won the “Engine of the Year” award in 2018, among other accolades . The boxer engine isn’t just a pleasure to rev up. Driving is accompanied by an exceptionally pleasant and distinctive sound. Our Style Edition model is equipped with features such as the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), sport exhaust tips, Power Steering Plus, 20-inch 718 Spyder wheels, a heated steering wheel and seats, and the Sport Chrono Package with a drive mode selector. In addition, this edition is distinguished by leather upholstery with embossed Porsche logos on the headrests, contrast stitching and illuminated stainless steel sill caps. All the extras in the Style Edition version form a cohesive whole that makes interacting with the car even more fun.
