What, then, has changed relative to the F12 Berlinetta model? First of all, the most important part of the supercar – its engine. Although developed on the basis of the predecessor’s unit, the designers increased (!) the capacity from 6262 cc to 6496 cc, and the design is 75% revised accordingly. This has contributed to an increase in power to equal 800 hp! The torque is also shocking as it is as high as 718 Nm at 7000 rpm! The way both power and torque “build up” has also changed. Ferrari has achieved perfection in building “tension” in the case of this model. As the revs increase, we linearly experience an increasing feeling of acceleration and an amazing soundtrack. Another major change is the improved design of the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The response to “upshift” or upshifting is 30% faster, and to “downshift” as much as 40% faster! These are dramatic differences. Add to that the fact that the 812 is 60 kilograms lighter and uses an advanced four-wheel steering system along with electronic power steering, and you begin to understand how the manufacturer achieved even greater perfection. Also worth mentioning is the presence of active aerodynamic systems that help keep the 800-horsepower rear-wheel-drive supercar under control!

How do these changes translate into the car’s performance? Just look at the numbers – 2.9 seconds to 100km/h (in a rear-drive car!) and a top speed of 340km/h making the 812 Superfast the fastest available car in our rental fleet (note second place is occupied by… Ferrari 296GTB ). Importantly, despite the significant design upgrade, the model still offers an analog, desirable driving experience.
