The value of the optional features on a vehicle from our rental fleet exceeds the value of more than a few new cars from a dealership. Starting with the visual aspects, a distinguishing feature of our model is the presence of 21-inch black AMG wheels, which give the S-Class a sportier and more aggressive look (and, of course, complement the AMG exterior package). The AMG styling package is also fully integrated into the interior, which is most evident in the sporty, flat-bottomed steering wheel that fits perfectly in your hands.

The most expensive option of all is the extensively equipped Premium Plus package, which includes the previously mentioned 360-degree camera system (as well as a variety of parking assistance systems), advanced safety systems, the Energizing package (which includes, among other things, a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear armrests, climate-controlled front seats, and dynamic multi-contour seats for the driver and front passenger). Thanks to this last feature, the S-Class will help us stay in shape while traveling, offering a multitude of interesting functions. We have five programs to choose from: “Freshness,” “Vitality,” “Warmth,” “Joy,” or “Coziness.” Once a specific option is selected, the car will adjust the cabin atmosphere to your preferences by configuring the seat massage, ambient lighting, climate control, sound system, and other settings accordingly. The car’s interior is illuminated by a panoramic two-piece glass roof, and the Burmester 3D surround sound system transforms the car into a small concert hall. Additional luxury awaits (as expected) the second-row passengers. The “Rear” package will turn a trip on the back seat into pure relaxation. A separate climate control panel, ventilated seats, a tablet that lets you control most of the car’s functions, power-adjustable seats with a massage function, and headrests with soft cushions are just some of the amenities.

Of course, it’s not just the rear-seat passengers who can enjoy a host of features designed to make the trip more pleasant. In our test vehicle, we also focused on driver comfort and equipped the car with the “chauffeur” package, which includes an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory settings, a fingerprint reader, comfortable headrests (identical to those in the rear row), and automatically dimming mirrors. Additionally, the presence of adaptive cruise control, reinforced brakes (part of the AMG package), a head-upwith augmented reality , and Digital Light headlights that turn night into day will give the driver a sense of safety and even greater driving pleasure, while the built-in navigation system will guide us straight to our destination.
