BMW M3 Competition xDrive

The latest BMW M3 initially came as a bit of a surprise to everyone, mainly due to its bold design and the introduction of four-wheel drive. Over time, many people have become convinced by the bold exterior design of the latest M3,which attracts attention on the street. Skeptics of four-wheel drive, on the other hand, were reassured by the possibility of disconnecting the front axle (as in its bigger brother, the M5) and transferring all power to the rear alone. These two things initially caused a lot of controversy, which has been effectively dispelled – and the new M3 has a lot of indisputably positive changes to offer compared to its predecessor.Performance and handling have “stepped up” to a new level.

M3, especially in the xDrive version on offer, is devoid of traction problems, making the car definitely catapult forward at any speed (including from zero – the launch control system is definitely more efficient). The car, in which the 6-cylinder 3-liter unit generates 510 horsepower. At the same time, the car has not lost out on character, and whenever we want, after setting the appropriate mode, it allows the typical BMW rear axle slip. “Three” can also be a suitable everyday car – especially in Comfort mode and with the 4×4 drive engaged.

Importantly, our copy already has a refreshed interior with two connected, “bent” screens. The digital “clocks” are shown on a 12’3″ screen, while the center one that allows you to control the entire car is now 14’9″. Also on the equipment list will be the M adaptive suspension (the ability to change shock absorber characteristics between Comfort and Sport+ modes), the 8-speed M Stepstronic transmission, or M xDrive with three modes – 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD. In addition, aboard our car, the future driver will find a Harman Kardon sound system, heated and ventilated seats (contoured seats), a heated steering wheel and a driver’s seat with memory settings. The uniqueness of the latest M3 is confirmed by the fact that the only common element with the regular “three” is the trunk lid (except that there is a spoiler on it). The current installment of the already iconic car very efficiently “hides” its weight – about 1,800 kg (which initially also caused some concern – as it turned out, completely unnecessarily).

The new M3 manages to be more “stiff” and better handling than its predecessor. All in all, the BMW M3 Competition xDrive is a complete proposition, for all conditions and weather. The car’s configurable settings can adapt them to any situation. The car, thanks to power gains and, above all, excellent drive and traction, is definitely faster than the F80 generation, but at the same time it has not lost its typical “claw”. It also became a competitor to strictly four-wheel drive representatives of the segment such as the Audi RS4. BMW has perfectly reconciled the further development of its flagship model with leaving its natural character.
