Porsche 718 Cayman GTS

The Porsche Cayman GTS is the sportiest version (of the civilian ones) of the 718 range. However, Porsche used a unit in it that makes the car much more unique than one might think at first “glance.” At the heart of the Cayman GTS is a 4-liter naturally aspirated boxer engine “revving” up to 7800 rpm, also known from the outright track model, the GT4.

Yes – for a model that we can fully call the “everyday” version, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer decided to put the engine from the track version of the Cayman! This completely changes the feel of the driving experience, and “revivng” the engine to redline, it’s hard to compare with the feel of any other car (unless to a 911 GT3). It is very interesting to note that in the case of the Cayman, the “order” of engine capacity was the opposite of the current trend of downsizing! The Cayman GTS, whose production ended in 2020, had a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine – that is, the manufacturer increased capacity significantly over its predecessor! This has undoubtedly translated into a definite increase in interest in GTS models.

As standard on the GTS version, we get a sporty and adjustable Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) suspension, reduced ground clearance and a Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) system with mechanical locking of the rear differential and a sport exhaust system. In our copy, we also took care of the optional equipment, including those that make daily driving more enjoyable. On board you’ll find Apple CarPlay, parking sensors with rearview camera, heated sport seats, heated multifunction steering wheel , BOSE® Surround Sound System sound system and PDK automatic transmission. An optional Race-Tex fabric trim adds to the sporty mood inside. The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS is a car of the kind that, unfortunately, is becoming increasingly scarce.

Focused on a sporty driving experience, with a naturally aspirated, large capacity engine, rear-wheel drive only, and only two seats (but with quite a bit of cargo space!). Manufacturers are increasingly rarely producing models that are primarily focused on driving pleasure – the Porsche 718 Cayman in GTS version is the definition of such a car!
