BMW X5 xDrive 30D

The BMW X5 is the first SUV in the BMW range, which made its market debut in 1999. The current-generation X5 with the code G05 available in our offer is a post-lifitng model with the 30d designation. In BMW’s model range, the X5 ranks above the BMW X3 and below the BMW X7. Also available is a coupe variant, the BMW X6. The X5 competes with cars such as the Audi Q7, Mercedes GLE, Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne.

The most visible change during the facelift occurred at the front of the vehicle where the appearance of the headlights and front bumper has been “sharpened.” The car now looks more aggressive. New are the “glowing kidneys”. “Iconic Glow“, with which our copy was equipped. In addition, the interior has been “updated” identically to all new BMW models. With the facelift, in line with current automotive trends, each version of the “civilian” variant of the BMW X5 “became” a soft hybrid with 48-volt technology that will give us an additional 12 hp and 20 Nm when needed. The 30d version currently offers 298 hp and 670 Nm which, combined with an 8-speed ZF automatic, translates into sensational flexibility and dynamics (6.1 seconds to 100 km/h).

Interestingly, only six-cylinder and eight-cylinder units remain on offer in the post-lift version. In this example, you can see how the Munich-based manufacturer, perfectly combined the advantages of electric drive with larger capacity units. By doing so, he also underscored the X5 model’s high place in BMW’s hierarchy. Our copy is equipped with extras that make the X5 take on even more “claw” visually. These include the M Pro Sport Package, the M Sport Package or the 22′ M Double-spoke 742 aluminum rims. The extras go well with the Carbon M black paint. In terms of handling characteristics, a big advantage is the presence of adaptive suspension and a sport braking system. Driving safety will also be improved by adaptive LED headlights.

Additional driving pleasure, on the other hand, will be provided by the optional Harman Kardon Surround Sound system. Undoubtedly, more driving experience will be provided by the BMW X5M variant , but during longer trips it is the 30d version that will impress with excellent interior soundproofing, plenty of space (the trunk has as much as 650 liters), low fuel consumption and a huge range. Performance is still excellent when needed, and you’ll even find a launch procedure on board. It’s an interesting alternative for longer trips to the BMW 5 Series or Mercedes E-Class.

The BMW X5 perfectly combines the features of a premium SUV and family practicality. It is a complete proposition that will work in any situation. It looks great, drives well, is practical, exemplarily built and you can even drive it off-road in light terrain. It’s no wonder that in the age of SUVs, the X5 is so high in the sales rankings of premium cars. The Munich-based manufacturer has been fine-tuning the design for more than 20 years and has created a near-perfect product.
