The Land Rover Range Rover is an interesting alternative not only to cars such as the BMW X7 or Mercedes GLS, but also the Bentley Bentayga or Porsche Cayenne. Of all those mentioned, it is distinguished by its individual style, excellent off-road capabilities and a focus more on luxury and comfort than on sporting qualities. The model has a history of more than 50 years, and its latest incarnation – the fifth generation designated L460 – is the culmination of refining the design to perfection. The new “Range” has been definitely upgraded compared to its predecessor. Visually, it is not radically different, but all lines have been significantly “smoothed”. The silhouette is very consistent and sleek despite its huge size.

The same style is continued in the interior of the car. Very luxurious, superbly finished with a large 13’1 Pivi Pro center screen, yet somehow minimalistic and not overloaded with buttons. The ambience of the cabin, along with sensational ride comfort (largely due to the presence of air suspension) and perfect soundproofing (active noise reduction), makes it one of the best possible choices for longer trips. Added to this is the unmistakable high position behind the wheel, providing excellent visibility and a sense of security. Despite its size, the more than 5-meter-long SUV handles remarkably well in urban conditions, thanks to its rear swivel axle!

The manufacturer has also improved the L460’s behavior in corners with an active roll control system and a stiffening of the entire structure by 35%. If you are looking for a large SUV whose natural habitat is corners, it is worth checking out the Porsche Cayenne on the other hand. Of course, the brand’s roots have not been forgotten, and with the Terrain Response 2 system, Land Rover will get where no other competitor is going. Such an exclusive car must be properly equipped. On board, you’ll find panoramic glass roof, gesture-controlled electric tailgate, ambient lighting, wireless charging, active cruise control, Apple CarPlay, Meridian sound system, automatic three-zone climate control and 360-degree cameras.

The car already comes standard with virtually every possible driving assistance system – blind spot assist, lane-keeping assist, front and rear collision warning, traffic sign recognition or even cabin preparation assist for a potential collision. Of the additional options, we chose, among others: black 22-inch wheels that perfectly match the “Belgravia Green” green paint, heated, ventilated front seats with massage function, 24-way electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated rear seats that tilt electrically, a heated steering wheel (perfect for winter days), a refrigerator in the front center console, a heads-up display and a 230V electrical outlet. The new generation of the flagship Range has taken a step forward in every conceivable area. It is more comfortable, more agile and dynamic (despite its weight of more than 2,500 kg), better made and more modern than its predecessor. It is a very interesting alternative to German offerings.

With its level of luxury it can compete not only with other SUVs, but also with typical limousines such as the BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 or Mercedes S Class.
