Renault Megane R.S. Ultime – a limited-edition model from Renault Sport
The Renault Megane R.S. Ultime is a collector’s edition limited to 1,976 units, marking the end of the Renault Sport division’s history. It features unique graphics, a matte black package, and the signature of test driver Laurent Hurgon.
The Renault Megane R.S. Ultime uses the powertrain familiar from the Trophy version: a 1.8 TCe engine producing 300 KM and 420 Nm of torque, paired with an EDC dual-clutch transmission. A mechanical Torsen differential improves traction during acceleration and when exiting corners. The Ultime also features a modified exhaust system that produces loud pops while driving, even at low RPMs. The Ford Focus RS and the Hyundai I30n may feel threatened in this regard.
The Ultime trim level also comes standard with a four-wheel steering system and a Cup performance suspension (stiffer stabilizer bars, firmer shock absorbers, and stiffer springs). Rounding out the package are fantastic Recaro seats upholstered in Alcantara, which will also prove comfortable during everyday driving.
