The BMW XM is, without a doubt, a controversial proposition, but there is no denying that this car is impressive – in many ways!
Power – 653 hp, value – seven digits (more than one million zlotys), acceleration – approx. 4s, The engine – the only proper one, which is a 4.4L turbocharged V8! All this is combined with a very modern design and the fact that this is only the second M model without an equivalent in the “base” BMW range. This makes the XM unique and incomparable. The BMW XM was created for the 50th anniversary of the BMW M division. What better way to celebrate such an occasion than to create the second-ever M model, which is also the flagship SUV in BMW’s hierarchy? This car does not compete with models such as the BMW X5M , just playing in a league of its own. The new BMW XM is available in plug-in hybrid and classic versions in a variety of exterior color options, including BMW XM Label Red and Night Gold. The BMW XM certainly stands out stylistically compared to the other models. At the front, we find an illuminated “Iconic Glow” radiator grille with the BMW XM logo and accents in Night Gold. At the rear, we find references to the BMW M1 in the form of laser-engraved BMW logos on both sides of the rear window. Attention is also drawn to the vertically stacked twin hexagonal M exhaust pipe tips and the gold diffuser insert. The XM is impressive in every way – the Munich-based brand also took care of the right wheel size… it’s up to 23 inches The new BMW XM is a four-wheel-drive SUV. The M sport differential ensures optimum transmission to the road, while the pressure on the rear axle improves traction and stability in various driving situations. Installed in the
XM’s adaptive M chassis provides a sporty fierceness without compromising travel comfort, while the integrated active steering system guarantees stability at higher speeds. Fortunately, BMW M Professional‘s adaptive suspension helps overcome bumps, providing adequate ride comfort without sacrificing sporty handling characteristics. This is an essential element in a car weighing 2710kg. Yes – it weighs more than our Mercedes-AMG G63! However, the XM, despite its weight, has no problems with dynamics. It owes this to the M Hybrid powertrain, which is a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 unit (also known from models such as the BMW M5 Competition and BMW M8 Competition) combined with a 197 hp electric motor. The combined torque of the unit jointly generated by the combustion engine and the electric motor is as much as 800 Nm! The powertrain has been integrated with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission. Inside, the BMW XM is quieter, but still modern and luxurious. Such extras as a massage function in the driver’s and passenger‘s seats, Bowers & Wilkins High End Sound System, gesture controls, multifunctional front seats, M-ventilated and heated seats, ambient lighting and many other features that make the trip more enjoyable await. The vehicle is controlled via the BMW Live Cockpit Professional (consisting of a 12.3-inch gauge display and a 14.9-inch center display) and the BMW iDrive 8.0 operating system. Being at the interior, it is worth mentioning that all materials have been made in the best quality. The vehicle’s sound system is unquestionably top-notch, but whenever we want, we can enjoy the sensational sound of the over 4-liter V8 unit! An illuminated roof with a three-dimensional structure is sure to attract attention. The atmospheric lighting can be adjusted in terms of its color and intensity. It also changes depending on the selected driving mode.
