The new BMW XM is a four-wheel-drive SUV. The M sport differential ensures optimum transmission to the road, while rear axle pressure improves traction and stability in a variety of driving situations. The adaptive M chassis system installed on the XM provides a sporty jam without compromising travel comfort, while the integrated active steering system guarantees stability at higher speeds.

It owes this to the M Hybrid powertrain, which is a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 unit (also known from models such as the BMW M5 Competition and BMW M8 Competition) combined with a 197 hp electric motor. The combined torque of the unit jointly generated by the combustion engine and the electric motor is as much as 800 Nm! The powertrain has been integrated with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission.
